Sean Knaus, PGA- Head Golf Professional

Joined Ligonier Country Club in January of 2020. Sean grew up in Latrobe and started his career at Latrobe Elks Golf Club. Sean graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Sports Management and a Concentration in Golf Management. Sean has been a member of The PGA of America since 2017, a US Kids Certified Coach, member of The Positive Coaching Alliance, Eyeline Golf Certified and a Certified Fitter with all of the respected brands.

Sean has also worked at Sewickley Heights Golf Club, Pittsburgh Field Club and Edgewood Country Club.

A few of Sean’s most noteworthy achievements include the 2015 Assistant of the Year award and being selected to play in the Frank B. Fuhrer Jr Invitational.

Sean resides in Greensburg, PA with his wife, Heather, and three sons, Aiden (7), Connor (4) and Bennet (1).

Teaching Philiosphy & Fitting Plan

-I believe everybody is different and everybody’s swing is different, but we all have the same goal-to play better and have fun. Before the learning process starts, I want to know my students short term and long term goals and what they would like to accomplish. Once I learn this, I now have the ability to help them achieve that goal. A successful teacher is someone who is a great listener and learner. During my lessons, I like to use technology (V1 Software) to gain an even better understanding of what my students want to accomplish. I firmly feel, “seeing is believing”.

-Just like a lesson, everyone is different and should be fit for their equipment. The slightest tweak in equipment can make a large difference in someone’s golf game.
