Cart paths on #17 and around #16 tee to the practice range were paved yesterday, as well as patch work around the course and the bottom of the maintenance building’s driveway. Pieces on #3, #5, and #6 cart paths will done in the near future once the weather allows.
On Monday the fairways and green banks were sprayed for the annual bluegrass weevil. Adult weevils go into the pine litter over the winter and in the spring crawl from the tree rows into the grassy areas, then lay their eggs on the fringes. From there the larva will make their way into the middle of fairways, tees, and greens which will kill grass roots.
Tuesday we sprayed for poa annua on the greens. This will make the greens look white and slows them down while sprayed, but kills the seed of this meadow grass before it can take root and slow down the greens for a length of time later.
We rolled the greens Wednesday and today (Friday), and will roll again tomorrow (Saturday).
Good Golfing! Keep it in the short grass!
