From the Pro ~ March 2018

Wow that was quite the winter!  Freezing sub Zero days followed by days where the rain wouldn’t stop followed by days of flooding.  That will be my rant about the weather for the year and now onto brighter and better days ahead.

Please keep this in mind while you traverse the golf course this summer.  Golf grants more than a diversion from work or the time we can spend with our family or friends.  Golf offers–according to a Swedish study–a chance to prolong to your life up to 5 years.  Golf encompasses 1-2% of all charitable giving in the United States with 3.6 billion dollars raised annually.  Golf challenges you to connect socially without the use of any electronic devices.  Golf licenses you an outlet to be active far beyond any other sport.  Golf is Ultra cool.

Since Cathy and I have been with the Ligonier CC we have watched as many of you have as the Club has changed and evolved.  Here would be a few of the highlights:

  • Irrigation system
  • Lakes on #11-12
  • Cart Paths
  • Green complexes on #1-5-13-Putting Green
  • Establishment of Practice facility
  • New Golf Shop/Cart barn
  • Numerous tree programs both planting and removal
  • Golf course equipment
  • Tee complexes including #17-18
